ONE'S HOME IS A SILENT STORY TELLER OF YOUR LIFE

BY RIAL VISAGE CREATIVE DIRECTOR OF RIALHEIM

RIALHEIM CERAMICDECOR WESTWOODMAN CERAMICDOG GEOMETRICPOTPLANTHOLDER

When people you don’t know well visit your house, their curiosity usually translates into conversations around pieces, object or toys in and around your house … Well we had visitors recently like that, and during one of these Q & A sessions I realised that one’s home is a silent story teller of your life. I immediately thought of my favourite song
“ The Story” by Brandi Carlie, with these specific verses in mind
"All of these lines across my face
Tell you the story of who I am
So many stories of where I've been
And how I got to where I am
But these stories don't mean anything
When you've got no one to tell them to
It's true... I was made for you”
This song has helped me through some tough times. Yet even when I’m feeling a little vain and worrying about newly discovered wrinkles, this song seems to be the remedy for my vanity, reminding me that every wrinkle tells the story of my life.
As these wrinkles tell our story, so too do your earthly belongings speak volumes about you and your journey. Some of the pieces in our home were left to us by our grandparents. They hold their own magical memories, but we’ve also added some playful pieces that we’ve picked up along the way.
Funny thing is, I can tell you the story of every single thing. The feeling each piece evokes means we are reminded where we bought it, the impulses, the tantrums and the falling-in-love particulars of each item. My partner in crime has this peculiar way each time we do something new to our house of standing back and staring at what we have created and if he likes it he’ll say "I feel rich”. If not, then we know we have more work to do!
I often witness conversations people have when they’re buying a Rialheim piece. As they hold onto the package and leave the store, I wonder about their story. I realise, with a little smile on my face, we haven’t just sold something, but a story and a lasting experience.

We at Rialheim can only hope that the pieces you buy from us find a special place in your life’s journey. For all of us here we know it was made with passion but more importantly, for me personally, I feel privileged to be part of your story.
This revelation has been so compelling for me that we strive every day to make our retail stores more and more like a home. With this in mind, we’re proud to announce our newly redesigned stores… that are just the beginning of our journey to honour our new name… Rialheim.
